About eWatt
How does eWatt work?
The eWatt Reader plugs into the HAN port of the electricity meter and reads it every 10 seconds, where meter data usually comes every 15 minutes. Nothing is installed in the electrical system.
The service analyses the data and reports what it finds: what happened, the likely cause, what to do and what it costs in euros.

What is the price for?
The price is per property you monitor. Each property gets one eWatt Reader on its electricity meter, and all prices are excluding VAT. Special case or questions? Contact sales.

How is the monthly fee billed?
The first month is free. At the end of it comes one invoice: the device fees, the opening fee and the monthly fees for the next 12 months. If you return the eWatt Readers within the first month, there is no invoice.

Is there a volume discount?
Yes, on the device fee. The device fee is lower the more properties the order has, and the step the order reaches applies to every property in it. The monthly fee has no volume discount.

Contract and cancelling
How long is the contract?
The first month is free, and the contract then runs for 12 months. It renews automatically 12 months at a time. To end it, tell eWatt in writing at least 30 days before the current 12 months are up.
The eWatt Reader remains eWatt's property and is returned within 30 days of the contract ending. It is under warranty for as long as you use it.

When does the free first month start?
The first month is free for each eWatt Reader, and each device's month starts on the day it goes live: when its eWatt Reader is plugged in and its data shows in the app.

Ordering and delivery
What does the order include?
An order includes an eWatt Reader for each property, the meter check, delivery, and getting the service running. It costs a one-time device fee of €249 per property, less from 11 properties, and a service opening fee of €590, charged only once per customer. Prices exclude VAT.
The first month is free. The one-time fees are invoiced at the end of it, together with the monthly fees.

Meters and the HAN port
What if my meter's HAN port is closed?
eWatt checks that each electricity meter is suitable and asks the network company to open its HAN port, before the eWatt Readers are delivered. You do not need to do anything.
The pricing page lists the meter models the eWatt Reader works with. If yours is not there, ask sales before you order.

Data, findings and accuracy
How soon will I see results?
You plug the eWatt Reader into the meter yourself, in about five minutes and without an electrician. Peak power, base load and phase balance are watched from the first day.
When something is off, you hear about it the next day: the likely cause, what to do and what it costs.

Savings and value
How much electricity can I save with eWatt?
It depends on the building, so eWatt does not promise a percentage. Every finding carries its cost in euros, so you know what a fix is worth before you make it, and the saving is confirmed from the measurements afterwards.
At one sports centre, two weeks of data showed a 22% phase imbalance causing losses worth about €200 a month, and peaks that could be lowered by 30 kW by changing the start-up sequence.

Security, privacy and data
How long is electricity data stored in the service?
The eWatt service keeps a property's electricity data for as long as it has been collected from that property, and eWatt charges nothing extra for storing it.
